<p>The rolling mill is fitted with a pressure device for altering the flexure of one of the rolls so the roll gp has a constant height along its entire length, i.e. along the rolls. A row of transducers is located in the gap between the rolls, and visual display indicators are fed with signals from transducers near both ends of the rolls and from a transducer located at the middle of the rolls gap, i.e. half way along the length of the rolls. The roll pressure device is then adjusted until all the signals have the same value. The pref. appts. includes a rectangular frame which carries a row of transducers inserted in the roll gap and connected to a measuring and adjusting circuit using hydraulic cylinders to adjust the flexure of the rolls. Very accurate adjustment of the roll gap is obtd. esp. for with integrated appts. and employed for thickness control of rolled sheet or strip.</p> |
