<p>PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which can make the entire part of the device simple and small by the constitution wherein the arc voltage generated between a welding torch and objects to be welded is adapted as an excitation current source to be applied to a coil in order to form the magnetic field for deflecting the welding arc. CONSTITUTION:An excitation coil 26 is provided around an electrode support part 24 within a welding torch 20 provided with an electrode 22, the part 24, etc. and the magnetic poles 42, 44 mounted to a coil winding frame 28 are extended to an arc generation part 32 in an arc welding machine which performs arc welding by supplying the welding current of a constant voltage between the torch 20 and objects 30 to be welded. Said coil 26 is connected to the electrode 22 and the objects 30 with conductors 38, 40, 46, 48 as well as two sets of make and break contacts 12-14 and 16-18 etc. The arc voltage is applied to the coil 26 during welding to make and break the contacts 12-14, 16-18 alternately and to change alternately the direction of the magnetic field in the part 32 thereby deflecting periodically the arc.</p> |
