The invention relates to a device for preparing screeded concrete layers, provided with constituents of predetermined maximum particle size, for a smooth finish. In order that the upper layer region is prepared using such a device, directly after the screeding operation of the concrete layer, in such a way that it can be spread as a smooth finish, provision is made according to the invention for a hollow-cylindrical roller to be rotatably mounted in a frame provided with a handle, and for the wall of the hollow-cylindrical roller to be provided with evenly distributed perforations which are of smaller design than the maximum particle size of the concrete layer to be treated.
