What is described is a garden implement for the removal of weeds and the like, which contains an approximately 1.4 m long bar-shaped carrier consisting of a light-metal tube, to the front end of which is attached a gripping head having two flat broad jaws. The jaws are prestressed into the opening position by a spring arrangement and can be closed by means of a cable pull which leads to an actuating lever arranged at the rear end of the carrier.
