A process and a device for controlled lay-up of fibres on a component mould, especially for manufacturing parts from fibre composite materials, has a lay-up head, into which a fibre strand or fibre strands supplied from one or more supply rolls are introduced. In the lay-up head each fibre strand is transferred further by a contactless transport device towards the mould and pressed onto the mould, also in a contactless manner, with the aid of pressurised gas emerging from at least one nozzle. The lay-up head is fitted either on a reciprocating traversing platform fitted above the mould or on an arm of a robot that can be pivoted in any direction. <IMAGE>
