The invention relates to an absorption heat pump or absorption refigerator. The stripper and absorber are connected together by a duct for weak solution and a duct, containing a drive, for rich solution. According to the invention, the drive is constructed as a displacement body (1), the housing (2) of which is divided by a drivable, axially movable displacement body (3) into two chambers (4,5), of which one (4) lies in the duct (6) for weak solution and the other (5) in the duct (9) for rich solution. A switchable shut-off element (14-17) is arranged in each of the two ducts (6,9), before and after the displacement body (1), the displacement body (1) delivering different volumes in its two directions of motion. The invention achieves the object of providing an absorption heat pump or absorption refrigerator which has a simply designed drive in the duct for the rich solution, thereby avoiding the disadvantages of an electric pump and effecting a stable solvent circuit. <IMAGE>
