Heated, prestressed forging die for isothermal deformation of metals, consisting of an inner, actual die body (1), an annularly arranged, electrically and thermally insulating ceramic body (3) which surrounds said die body directly and in which an inductive heating coil (2) is embedded, a pressing body (4) producing the radial prestress, and also an annular structural member which is arranged between the ceramic body (3) and the pressing body (4) and serves for magnetic field control and can be designed as an annular electrical conductor (5) for screening or as a magnetic segment (8) or magnetic ring (9) for conducting the magnetic field.
