PURPOSE:To remove unbalance in the coefficient of heat transfer of a group of heat exchager tubes, by disposing guide plates between each of the adjacent partition plates so that the fluid flows uniformly in the shell of a heat exchanger in a perpendicular direction to the heat exchanger tubes. CONSTITUTION:A proper number of guide plates 11, 12 are interposed between adjacent partition plates 5, 5 so that the fluid flows in the shell of a heat exchanger in a perpendicular direction to a group of heat exchanger tubes 2. The guide plates 11, 12 functions to meke the fluid flow at cutaway portions 13 of the partition plates parallel to the length of the heat exchanger tubes 2 and to minimize the fluid flow in the perpendicular direction of the heat exchanger tubes 2. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to obtain a uniform heat transfer rate over the entire surfaces of the heat transfer tubes 2. |
