The device according to the invention is used to make loading devices movable and vertically adjustable. The aim of the invention is to save material and manufacturing outlay and to achieve applicability with a very wide range of loading devices. The object of the invention is to make the loading device movable on all sides in the rest position, to minimise the area it occupies, to make it easily operable by a single person, to ensure that it can cope with a range of height differences and to make it adjustable in its stand-by position by means of components which correspond with one another in a low-friction manner. According to the invention, this is achieved by providing the ramp plate with a support which has a supporting surface and the point of support of which is at a distance from the vertical of the support joint in the working position, and the bridge plate with a pivotable, two-armed lever, whose short end has a pressure element which corresponds with the supporting surface and/or a supporting wedge which is arranged on the bridge plate, is adjustable and is provided with a rolling surface, and on whose longer end a pivotable pair of running wheels and an abutment for the vertical adjustment device have a rolling surface, a connecting pin which penetrates the abutment and a stop which terminates the pin at a safe distance from the abutment.
