PURPOSE:To obtain a carrier having excellent durability and having always stable triboelectrification properties without causing filming of a toner for a long time by coating the carrier core with a coating material mixed with polyphenyl sulfide and a fluororesin at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:A coating material mixed with polyphenyl sulfide and a fluororesin at 1-20 (based on weight) polyphenyl sulfide/fluororesin is coated on the surface of a carrier core and is allowed to cure. These resins melt uniformly to provide strong adhesive strength to the carier core so that the coating film having excellent resilience, tensile force and compressive strength and long durability is formed. The resulting coating film has low surface energy, and does not cause the filming of a toner hence the deterioration in the characteristics of a developer even when used for a long time. The film thickness of the coating material is adjusted to an optional proper thickness according to applications; the preferred thickness is about 0.1-about 20 microns. |
