Proportional magnet

A proportional magnet (1) has a magnetic armature (6) which is arranged such that it can be displaced in the axial and/or rotational direction, in proportion to signals which can be applied to coil windings (3). In order to reduce the force which opposes the movement of the magnetic armature, the magnetic armature (6) is supported on sliding segments (7) which have small dimensions in comparison with the surface (10) of the magnetic armature (6). <IMAGE>
