1526140 Liquid particle separator ATLAS COPCO AB 23 Dec 1976 [23 Dec 1975] 53839/76 Headings BIT B2P An apparatus for separating liquid (e.g. oil) from compressed gas comprises a container separated into two compartments by a non- return valved plate 2, into the upper compartment of which gas is admitted (e.g. tangentially) so that liquid particles are deposited and flow downwardly through opening 6 into lower compartment 70, and partly cleaned gas is then passed through a filter element 8. Gas may then exit through a head piece 13 by way of a pressure check valve 20 and passage 16. On decompression of the upper chamber oil containing compressed gas bubbles is prevented from expanding into the upper chamber by the closure of non return valve piece 4. Oil may be drained from compartment 70 and through tube 9 for reuse. A fine bleed aperture e.g. 32 equalizes pressure slowly. |
