Figure 1 illustrates a supporting profile, typical of the invention, of a fire-resisting false ceiling. Arranged between each two false-ceiling parts, the U-shaped legs, which are bent inwards, carry the applied load of the ceiling parts, the vertical profile part being at least partially covered by a protective layer which foams under the effect of heat. The vertical profile part is, for its part, enclosed by a grating which maintains the profile part/protective layer combination. Other parts of the supporting profile can be surrounded by the protective layer. Additional components form the lower visual closure of the fire-resisting false ceiling. <IMAGE>
