PURPOSE:To enable a fluorescent lamp to be completely exchanged for a general incandescent lamp in terms of dimensions, make the fluorescent lamp to be no inferior to a general fluorescent lamp in terms of starting voltage, luminous flux reduction rate and efficiency, and make the fluorescent lamp to give a luminous energy sufficient for a general lighting by specifying the ratio of the tube length to the tube diameter of a curved bulb. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent lamp 3 made of a curved bulb 5, which is integrated with both a ballast 7 and a lighting tube 9, is installed in an outer encircling case 8. By making the tube length (the axial length between the sealed ends) and the tube diameter (the inner diameter) of the curved bulb 5 to be 300-350mm. and 14.5-16.5mm. respectively, the starting voltage of the lamp 3 is adjusted to around 90 to 94V, and the lamp 3 can be sufficiently lit with a commercially available electric wire. Since the input of the lamp 3 can be adjusted to around 8-15W, which corresponds to the brightness of around 30-600W of a general incandescent lamp, the lamp 3 gives a sufficient brightness which can be used for a general lighting. Besides, the outer encircling case 8 can be made to have almost the same size as, for example, a ball-type electric lamp of a 95mm. class. |
