Process and plant for decreasing foreign substances in gases

A process and plant are described, according to which the foreign substances are treated using a liquid mist, the droplets of which have a mean diameter of 0.01 to 0.05 mm. The gas containing the droplets and the bound foreign substances is then subjected to sound treatment and/or centrifuged, in such a manner that many droplets containing the foreign substances unite to form a liquid mass which can be separated from the gas. The gases in question are chiefly flue gases of industrial combustion plants, but also combustion gases of vehicles.
