In this combined multi-purpose switch, the function of a power switch as a sliding switch and, furthermore, the function of a sawtooth switch, which is known per se are combined with a zoom effect. Using a T-shaped switching lever in the upper switch region, displacement and pivoting to the left and right are accomplished. Using said switch, it is possible to operate the switching on and off movements for a single circuit and, on the other hand three contacts which are individually allocated to the on-off switching states between a common connecting conductor and a relatively smaller connecting conductor or a relatively larger connecting conductor on the side of the smaller. The vertical sliding movement of the switching lever is limited by a pivoting pin which comes up against a stop at the ends of an elongated hole in the switch housing. The combined multi-purpose switch combines two separate switches and reduces the dimensions and costs of the video camera.
