The electronic protection against drivers travelling in the wrong direction relates to a device which prevents one-way streets and motorways being entered in the wrong direction. Three electronic components located one behind the other are connected in the correct sequence when driving in the wrong direction, as the result of which a transmitter is triggered. By means of the encoded pulse sequence, the receiving component in the vehicle is triggered, as a result of which the engine is immediately switched off. This system can be produced with limited financial means but the effect is very great. If only one serious accident on a motorway is thus prevented, the system has already paid for itself over the entire country if the high costs entailed by such an accident are considered.
