PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of deflection in the case of indexing and grinding a work to be cut, such as, for example, a milling cutter, by carrying out such a precise grinding process that every position to be ground on the work is indexed with a fine grinding amount and single-pass grinding is carried out with a fine cutting amount. CONSTITUTION:In a grinding machine, the figure shows a coordinate on which the traverse position of a table carrying a work to be ground is taken along the abscissa and the cutting amount of a grinding wheel carrier is taken along the ordinate. In a primary grinding cycle, every position to be cut on the work is indexed, and a grinding process is carried out in an A process. Then, the work after completion of the primary grinding process is returned to a position S0 as indicated by reference numeral 4 with the cutting amount being maintained and therefore, an indexing process Y2 for precise grinding is carred out. Further, a proper amount of cutting is given to the grinding wheel carrier for traversing the table by a single pass between positions S1, S2, so that a first precise grinding process B1 is carried out the thereafter, the table is returned to the position S0. Thus, the accuracy of deflection thereof may be enhanced. |
