PURPOSE:To provide a plate making machine which can make a plate of a high quality without relying on the intuition of a worker by automatically controlling luminous energy of an electronic flash discharge tube reading the manuscript rate of a manuscript. CONSTITUTION:The part corresponding to a manuscript is replaced with the number of reference pulses and applied to the negative-input terminal of a comparator 26 after an analog conversion. With increase in the manuscript rate, the output voltage VC of a D/A converter 30 increase and likewise, the charge voltage VA to a capacitor 23 does to enhance the luminous energy Q of an electronic flash discharge tube 35. This eliminates extra care of adjusting luminous energy relying on the intuition of a worker.
