PURPOSE:To produce a magnetic head of high quality, by forming a gap groove to a core block so that a part of the gap groove pierces through the core block and heat-treating said block after putting a core on the surface of a front panel block after coating glass and then putting glass on the gap groove. CONSTITUTION:A gap groove 2 is formed on the upper surface 1a of a core block, and a recessed part 6 which is orthogonal to the groove 2 has its depth reaching down to the groove 2 to piece through the groove 2 and the core block. Thus a proper gap width is secured at both sides of the part 6 except a coupled part 7. Then the paste type glass 8 is coated on the surface of a front panel block 4, and the core block is put on the glass 8 while the block 4 is heated within a furnace. Then the glass 3 for gap part is put on the groove 2 and melted to fill the groove 2. The glass 3 flows out through the lower opening part of the groove 2 and is unified with the glass 8. The same melting point is secured for both glass 3 and glass 8 for a simultaneous melting process. This process decreases the number of manufacturing stages and at the same time prevents the air bubbles generated from the charged glass in the groove 2. Thus a magnetic head of high quality is obtained. |
