PURPOSE:To form irregularities only on the surface of an endless metal belt for transmitting high power for improving durability of same by forming fine oil storing irregularities on the surface of the belt hoop with shot blast working. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical metal blank 1 subjected to preform machining is fitted on a mandrel 2 and reciprocated while being squeezed by a rotating punch 3 to form a thin wall cylinde 1' which is attachably extended between a work roller 4 and a tension roller 6 and subjected to ring mill working by back-up rollers 5a-5c to provide respectively the thickness and peripheral length of belt hoops. Then, it is subjected to solution heat treatment and shot blast with glass beads of 60-80mu grain size to form oil storing irregularities of 1-3mumRZ surface roughness on the surfaces of the respective belt hoops. Ten belt hoops are overlapped on each other to produce a multiple layer endless belt by ring roll working. Thus, the coefficient of friction in the belt it-self is reduced to provide durability while fatigue strength of belt itself is improved by spinning working. |
