PURPOSE:To raise the speed of wire-cut electro-discharge machining ever so high, by forming something being turned to a martensite structure from a copper alloy, comprising copper as a main body and containing both Zu and Al, into a wire electrode. CONSTITUTION:As a wire electrode material for wire-cut electro-discharge machining, something that is formed into a martensite structure by quenching a copper alloy containing Zn 20-42wt% and Al 0.2-5wt% and consisting of the rest Cu is used. This wire electrode helps improve the speed of wire-cut electro- discharge machining, and a quantity of metter sticking to a workpiece is reduced down to the fewest possible extent. |
