PURPOSE:To increase the recording density, by picking up only the signal right under a head at the time of reproduction and aboiding dispersion of recording magnetic fluxes in at the time of recording after laminating a shielding member to the side surface which decides the head thickness. CONSTITUTION:A shielding member 2e made of a nonmagnetic material, etc. is adhered to both side surfaces in the direction of thickness 2c which decides the width of a magnetic recording track near a gap 2a of a magnetic head 2. A spacer 2d can use either plastic or an adhesive, etc. and usually has a space slightly larger than the gap between a magnetic disk 3 and the head 2. As a result, the head 2 performs magnetic recording to the disk 3 within a range of about thickness 2c. Furthermore the crosstalk can be prevented since only the signal right under the thickness 2c of the head 2 is picked up substantially even at the time of reproduction. Thus, the space between tracks is reduced and the recording density is increased. |
