PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature beam synthesizer which can reduce the elipse loss as well as aberration, by using a polarized beam splitter, a lambda/4 plate and a prescribed filter to synthesize two light beams of different wavelengths so that they are set approximately on the optical axis of an aperture lens. CONSTITUTION:The light beams 6a and 7a of wavelengths lambda1 and lambda2 delivered from light source 6 and 7 are made incident to a polarized beam splitter PBS8. The beam 6a is reflected by the PBS8 and reflected again by a BPF10 via a lambda/4 plate 9. This reflected beam travels backward and is condensed on an information medium 4 through the PBS8 and an aperture lens 3. The reflected light 6b travels backward and is reflected by the PBS8 to be radiated. While the beam 7a is reflected by the PBS8 and condensed on the medium 4 through a lambda/4 plate 11 and the lens 3. The reflected light 7b is radiated through the PBS8 and the BPF10. This reduces the elipse loss and the generation of aberration for a miniature beam synthesizing device. |
