PURPOSE:To enhance reliability of a magnetic head, by joining a magnetic head element made of a high magnetic permeability material with a substrate made of a low magnetic permeability material by the medium of a diffusion layer. CONSTITUTION:The block 11 of a high magnetic permeability material is joined into one body with a material block 12 having magnetic permeability low enough as compared with the former by means of a diffusion layer 13 formed by mutual diffusion of both material. The block 11 is composed of, e.g., multicrystals of Ni-Zn type ferrite, formed into a rectangular parallelepiped block, and the block 12 is e.g. a rectangular parallelepiped made of zinc ferrite. These blocks 11, 12 are joined by applying about 5kg/cm<2> pressure and heating to 1,100-1,350 deg.C. As a result, the mutually diffused layer 13 is formed and strongly joined, and the reliability of the magnetic head can be enhanced. |
