PURPOSE:To provide an impact type typing apparatus small in size, capable of reducing power consumption and good in responsiveness, constituted from such a mechanism that the connection or the separation of a piezo-electric element selecting means and other means is generated by deforming one of said selecting means, a typing means and an energy accumulating means. CONSTITUTION:When voltage is not applied to a piezo-electric element 17 of a selecting means and the piezo-electric element 17 is not deformed, the piezo- electric element 17 and a press contact member 18 are not connected to a typing wire 15 in press contact relation thereto. Voltage is applied to the piezo-electric element 17 which is, in turn, elongated to the center axis direction thereof to approach the press contact member 18 and the typing wire 15 is pressed to be held at a return position in a press contact state. The typing wire 15 performs reciprocal operation corresponding to the displacement in the free end of the typing spring 14 of an energy accumulating means. |
