PURPOSE:To provide the titled apparatus which can produce a print image of a high quality with a reduced print distortion due to a high deflection sensitivity by constructing a deflection electrode with three or more deflection electrode plates to keep the deflection electric field by varying voltage applied to the electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:An upper deflection electrode is divided into the first electrode 5a1 and the second electrode 5a2 while a lower deflection electrode 5b is grounded. A voltage Vd1[=R2Vd/(R0+R1+R2)] is applied to the electrode 5a1 while a voltage Vd2[=(R1+R2)Vd/(R0+R1+R2)] to the electrode 5a2 so that the intensities of the electric fields thereof have P and Q on the straight line C (in the constancy of the electric field intensity) to prevent the lowering of the deflection sensitivity. |
