PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for providing much space in the axial direction of a main spindle as well as for using any rotary coupling. CONSTITUTION:Several hydrautic cylinders 10 are radially provided centering around the axis of a main spindle 6, and are connected with a hydraulic pressure supplying source 29 by means of quick disconnect couplings 21 and 22 through oil passages 19 and 20, only when the main spindle is stopped. This eliminates the need for using any rotary coupling which is liable to cause wear and heat generation, and also for providing much space in the longitudinal direction of the main spindle. Particularly, the quick disconnect couplings 21 and 22 which can be provided on a side of the main spindle 6 enable a unit to carry out a turning of a cylindrical workpiece from its both sides. |
