PURPOSE:To perform grinding work accurately in short time in an automatic grinder, by detecting abrasion of a grindstone automatically by means of a detector then moving the grinding tool in accordance to the detection signal passed through a potentiometer and performing correction. CONSTITUTION:A rotary member 36 in a detector 34 will rotate while contacting with the grinding face 38 of a grindstone 3 to rotate a coupling board 35 together with an angular axis 30 in accordance to the amount of abrasion thus to produce an electric signal corresponding to the amount of abrasion from a potentiometer 33. Upon rotation of D.C. motor 22 through said signal, a rotary shaft 17 will rotate through bevel gears 23, 15 thus to lower a grinding tool 9 fixed to a tubular table 14 to be screwed with said shaft 17 along a groove 25 in the fixed rail 24 and to lower the grindstone grinding face 38 at the shaft end in accordance to the amount of abrasion. Consequently grinding work can be performed without correcting the grinding machine in short time with high accuracy. |
