METHOD OF CUTTING ELONGATED MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To cut an elongated material at the time when a pulse from a pulse generator becomes a predetermined pulse after an end of the elongated material reaches a material end detector arranged between a finish stand and a cutter. CONSTITUTION:In cutting an elongated material at the down-stream position of a rolling line, a weight and a size of the elongated material to be cut are given to a computer prior to a rolling operation, and the material is cut according to the right equation. As given by the equation, the material is cut at the time when a pulse from a pulse generator becomes a predetermined pulse.
