PURPOSE:To compose an optical multiplexer and demultiplexer of one lens by bringing three optical fibers into close contact with one end surface of the lens. CONSTITUTION:Pieces of luminous flux lambda1 and lambda2 from two light sources are transmitted in an optical fiber 1 and collimated by the lens 4. The pieces of parallel luminous flux are made incident to a prism 14 incorporating a wavelength selective filter 8; the luminous flux lambda1 is transmitted and the lambda2 is reflected. The transmitted luminous flux lambda1 is reflected by a reflecting mirror 10 which slants slightly to enter an optical fiber 2. On the other hand, the reflected luminous flux lambda2 is transmitted through another wavelength selective filter 9 and then reflected by a slightly slanting reflecting mirror 13 to enter an optical fiber 3. The wavelength selective filter 9 is arranged because the wavelength component reflected by the wavelength selective filter 8 contains part of the luminous flux lambda1. |
