PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the movement of a printing head and to speed up printing in a printer to be used for the hard copying of character pattern information received through a subscriber's telephone line and reproduced by a television receiver, by scanning the 1st line of the 1st picture and then scanning the 1st line of the 2nd picture to print out the 1st and 2nd pictures in parallel. CONSTITUTION:When a hard copying is required, a microprocessor reads out data stored in a multipage memory of an I/O interface in the sequence of MP1l1, MP2l1, MP2l2, MP1l2, MP1l3, MP2l3..., supplied to a printer through a data buffer and printed out by moving a printing head as shown in the figure. Namely, the 1st line l1 of the 1st picture P1 is scanned and printed out, the 2nd line l2 of the 2nd picture P2 is scanned and printed out and then the 2nd line l2 of the 1st picture P1 is scanned and printed out. Thereafter, the printing head scans the lines to print out pictures in the same manner. |
