PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of noxious gas by a method wherein fuel and air are mixed together by flowing them spirally at the outer periphery of a housing which is provided within the shell of the combustion chamber of a catalytic combustion type gas turbine combustor so as to communicate with the upstream side and the downstream side of the catalyst and then the mixture is passed through the catalyst through the housing. CONSTITUTION:The fuel from a fuel injection nozzle 2 and the air from an air injection nozzle 3 flow toward the upstream side along a spiral groove 7 formed in a front stage mixing camber 10 and after they are mixed with each other, the mixture enters a mixing chamber 9 within the housing 6. Then the mixture is formed current and flows unformly through the catalyst 5 and is burned completely at a comparatively low temperature due to a catalytic action. Further, the resultant combustion gas is cooled to a desired temperature by diluting air from an air intake port 13 and discharged into a turbine. With the above structure, the mixing of the fuel and air is made uniformly and the mixture flows uniformly into the catalyst so that it is possible to control the geneation of the noxious gas. |
