PURPOSE:To detect the skew of a business form by an oscillator (OCR) precisely and to prevent a reading miss due to the skew, by comparing the read-out result of the positions of right and left ends of each line with format controlling data. CONSTITUTION:The data D of one line of a business form read out by a reading part of the OCR are stored in a line buffer 11. The data D stored in the line buffer 11 are read out by a control circuit 14. The format controlling data such as the width, length and line positions of the business form are previously stored in the control circuit 14. The control circuit 14 detects the right and left end positions of the business form and compares the detected results with the right and left end positions of the original skewless line. The right and left end positions of the original errorless line of the business form are successively compared with the right and left end positions of the succeeding lines, and if the compared result exceed a permitted range, the skew is determined. |
