PURPOSE:To reduce the time for attaining focusing and to make the focusing sure by calculating the extent of driving a main lens in accordance with the output of a sensor, and driving the main lens at the driving speed corresponding to said extent of driving. CONSTITUTION:The signal B of a detection means 8 which detects the distance between the images formed from the same object through different optical paths and a reference device A which indicates the distance between the images showing the focusing are compared in a comparison means 26, by which the signals C, D indicating the driving direction are obtained. The signal E indicating ¦B- A¦ which is the difference between the above-described two signals is converted to a voltage signal VM with a D/A converter 27, and the speed of the motor driving the main lens of a driving part 10 is determined by said voltage, whereby the focusing is obtd. surely in a short time. |
