FRACTURE DISCRIMINATING METHOD

摘要

PURPOSE:To discriminate the fatigue fracture of ferritic matrix cast iron, by observing a stepwise fracture appearing characteristically in the fatigue fracture of the ferritic matrix cast iron. CONSTITUTION:The fracture of the ferritic matrix cast iron is observed through a scanning type microscope with regard to a breakdown of the ferritic matrix cast iron to confirm whether the stepwise fracture is present or not. Then, if the stepwise fracture 1 is found, it is judged that the breakdown is caused by fatigue. Consequently, the fracture of flaky graphite cast iron is observed to decice on the fatigue fracture.
