PURPOSE:To prevent the local erosion of an immersion nozzle and to prolong the life thereof, by changing the target set value of the weight of the molten steel in a tundish at the programmed pattern. CONSTITUTION:The charging control of molten metal 2 is started at, for example, 60t weight of the molten metal in a tundish in the 1st charge by the 1st ladle. A target value is so set that the weight of the molten steel in the tundish attains, for example, 70t at the end period of charging in the last ladle upon lapse of, for example, 40min thereafter. The molten steel is continuously cast into a casting mold 12 from the tundish 6 even during exchanging of the ladles upon ending of the charging from the 1st ladle 4. The melt level in the tundish 6 decreases sharply and the weight of the molten steel in the tundish returns to 60t the weight of the molten steel when the charging is started and the melt level is lowered. Since the exchanging of the ladle 2 ends at this point of the time, the charging is started roughly at 60t in the 2nd charge by the 2nd ladle, and 70t is attained at the end period of charging after 40min. |
