PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of transmission efficiency and SN ratio and to reduce the titled element in size, by providing the element with two horizontal registers to take charge of a portion of horizontal reading, and forming an accumulation electrode by closing to the horizontal register separated from the transfer end of a vertical register. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd horizontal register 5 is formed so as to be paralleled with the 1st horizontal register 3. The 1st and 2nd horizontal registers 3, 5 are controlled by 2-phase clocks and applied to CCD operation by storage electrodes 6A, 6B are transfer electrodes 7A, 7B. The accumulation electrode 16 is formed close to the 2nd horizontal register 5. In the transfer direction, the 1st horizontal register 3, a T/S gate 8, the 2nd horizontal register 5, and the accumulation electrode 16 are arrayed successively. In this example, transfer loss is reduced by forming the accumulation electrode 16. |
