PURPOSE:To obtain a radiation picture reader with high read precision by guiding light of accelerated phosphorescence by excited light polarized by an optical deflector to a photodetector through a unidirectional converging element and an optical reflecting element. CONSTITUTION:The excited light L polarized by the optical plarizer is made incident to an accumulative fluorescent material SP through a dichroic mirror 1 as the optical reflecting element and a cylindrical lens 2 as the unidirectional converging element. Then, an incident spot light has a 25-200mum diameter and is circular or elliptic. The emitted light of accelerated phosphorescence on the SP is inputted to the photoelectron multiplier tube 3 through those lens 2, mirror 1, and filter 4 to be read. A main scan is made by moving the excited light L at right angles to the paper surface, and a subscan is made by moving the SP upward, thus irradiating the entire surface of the SP with the light L. Then, light at each scanning spot is converged in one direction by the lens 2 and then separated from the excited light to enter the photomultiplier tube 3 from the film 4, reading a radiation picture recorded on the SP. |
