PURPOSE:To obtain a stereoscopic television display device having a wide range enabled to observe stereoscopic images without using glasses, by arranging a lenticular lens plate on the back of a transmission type diffusion surface so that plural vertical stripe-like pictures projected on the transmission type diffusion surface are observed as left eye pictures and right eye pictures. CONSTITUTION:In the figure, a picture close to a part 17 on the diffusion surface 15 is projected to the left eye 11 and a picture close to a part 18 is projected to the right eye 12 to observe stereoscopic pictures. A stereoscopic picture screen 13 is formed by a lenticular lens plate 14, the diffusion surface 15 and a vertical stripe-like light douser 16. In said constitution, pictures from projection video tubes 20, 22 are like vertical stripes on the diffusion surface 15, but these stripes have respective width and it is desirable that the stripes are slightly overlapped. Since the vertical stripe-like pictures on the diffusion surface 15 have respective width, the stereoscopic picture can be observed even if the observer is moved slightly in the horizontal direction, expanding an observation enabled range. |
