NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 is 1,2-, 1,3- or 1,4-phenylene; R2 is group of formula II, III, IV, etc.; X and Y are H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy). EXAMPLE:N,N'-Di-[p-carbo(o-tert-butylphenoxy)benzoyl]-p-phenylenediamine. USE:Useful for the synthesis of polyester having amide group. The copolymerized polyester has high strength, elastic modulus and glass transition temperature, and is useful for tire cord, magnetic recording tape, container, electrical insulating material, etc. PROCESS:The amide compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting a monoallylester acid chloride of a dicarboxylic acid selected from orthophthalic acid, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid, with a diamine. |
