摘要 PURPOSE:To recover the catalyst component for the preparation of phenolic compound from a benzenemonocarboxylic acid in liquid phase using a catalyst composed of a copper compound, a manganese compound and a rare earth metal compound, by separating the phenolic compound, and burning the residual reaction products. CONSTITUTION:A phenolic compound is prepared by the oxidative decarbonation of a benzenemonocarboxylic acid, its salt, ester or anhydride in the presence of a catalyst composed of a copper compound, a manganese compound and a rare earth metal compound in liquid phase. In the above process, the reaction product left after the separation of the phenolic compound, preferably a material containing the catalyst and tar, etc. and obtained by separating the unreacted material and a valuable substance such as intermediate of phenol, etc. from the above reaction product, is burnt to recover the catalyst component in the state to be usable without problem. The catalyst is usually recovered in the form of oxide, which can be dissolved uniformly in the reaction mixture and resused.
