PURPOSE:To execute simply and easily a roll replacing work of a steel pipe straightening machine, and to raise the productivity, by coupling chocks of the upper and lower rolls as one body by use of a coupling device, and drawing them out to the outside. CONSTITUTION:Chocks 6, 4 to which upper and lower rolls 5, 3 are installed, respectively are turned up to a position intersecting at right angles with a pass line P-P of a steel pipe, etc. Subsequently, the roll 5 is lowered, is coupled as one body with the roll 3 by a coupling device 9, and a connecting part 82 is coupled with an engaging part 43 of the chock 4. Subsequently, the chocks 6, 4 are slid along a slide beam 71, and are moved to a prescribed position. Subsequently, new rolls 5, 3 coupled as one body with said upper and lower chocks 6, 4 are carried onto the beam 71, and the projecting part of the chock 4 is fitted into a groove 73 of the beam 71. |
