Method and apparatus for producing and sealing a can-type pack, consisting of a sleeve-shaped casing 1 and at at least one end thereof an end piece 2,3, where the pack sections are produced from a material suitable for high- frequency welding, having, on the inside of the rest of the pack, at least one layer of a weldable material 5, and wherein the end piece 2,3 is pushed inside the open ends of the casing 1 and fixed by high-frequency welding. The seal is produced in that a material forming an end piece 2,3 is formed with a conically enlarged edge around it, after which the material is pressed into the open end of the casing 1 using a plunger 14 with a conical surface 15 and interacting with a welding tool 8 with a corresponding conical surface 10, wherein the plunger is subjected to a pre-determined pressure, which is maintained until the weldable layer 5 due to the welding begins to take on a plastic fluid form. In this phase the plunger 14 is pushed down with the end section 2,3 slightly, with essentially the same pressure as previously, after which the pressure is relieved while the welded seam sets. The apparatus consists of a tool slide 16 with spring system 21 which supports the plunger 14 and which can be moved down to a fixed stop 18,27, and the plunger 14 is mounted in the tool slide 16 on a vertically movable axis 19 , which can be moved a specifically adjustable distance 22 upwards in relation to the tool slide 16 and then, under the influence of a compression spring 21, a specific distance 20 downwards in relation to the tool slide 16 and in relation to a fixed welding tool 8, which holds the pack casing 1 fast. <IMAGE> |
