PURPOSE:To record a color image with high quality, by reversely feeding a recording paper until one of non-inked regions provided between ink layers of an ink sheet comes to a recording part, when recording is finished. CONSTITUTION:A color ink sheet provided with the non-inked regions (n) between the ink layers of yellow Y, magenta M, cyan C and black B is used, and a pressure-sensitive spring 25 for relieving the pressure exerteted between a recording head 3 and a platen roller 4 is provided for reversely feeding the recording paper 2 in the condition wherein the non-inked region (n) is located at the recording position. During printing with the black B part, the leading end of the next yellow Y part is detected by a photo-sensor 21, and after recording with the black B part is completed, feed quantities of the sheet 1 and the paper 2 are counted 19 from the moment of detection of the next yellow Y part. When a blank part (p) between the black B part and the next yellow Y part reaches the recording position, the platen roller 4 is stopped, the sheet 1 is positioned at a stand-by position for recording, the paper 2 is reversely fed by reversely rotating the roller 4, and the paper 2 is cut at a recording finishing end by a cutter 13. |
