PURPOSE:To automatically absorb expansion of a cable, by combining a pulley engaged with a driven shaft with a pulley pivotably supported to the drive shaft to form a drive pulley of a wiper, and meshing teeth formed on both the pulleys with each other with the aid of an elastic member. CONSTITUTION:When a first pulley 11 engaged with a drive shaft 16 is rotated in the direction as depicted by E, ratchet teeth 12 formed on the first pulley 11 is idly meshed with ratchet teeth 15 formed on a second pulley 14 in the direction of E, while the second pulley 14 being also rotated in the direction of E through a loop cable 2. Under such a circumstance, if the cable is not stretched, both the pulleys 11 and 14 are simultaneously rotated in the direction of E without idle rotation. When the cable is stretched, rotation of the second pulley 14 is not generated simultaneously with the rotation of the first pulley 11 in the direction of E because of the expansion of the cable 2. When the first pulley 11 only is rotated by the idle rotation of the ratchet teeth 12, and thereby to wind up the cable 2 to absorb the expansion, tensile force is acted on the cable 2 to rotate the second pulley 14 too in the direction of E. |
