PURPOSE:To facilitate restarting of an engine, by driving a fly-wheel by a motor in case that the speed of rotation of the fly-wheel is lower than a prescribed value, in an apparatus utilizing the driving power accumulated in the fly-wheel at the time of restarting the engine after stopping of idling operation. CONSTITUTION:In the titled apparatus of this invention, a clutch 27 is brought into engagement with a starting fly-wheel 24 at the time of accelerating an engine or constant-speed operation of the engine by supplying current to an electromagnetic coil 12 for turning the fly-wheel 24 together with the clutch 27, so as to utilize the driving power accumulated in the fly-wheel 24 for the restarting of the engine after stopping of its idling operation. Here, in case that the speed of rotation of the fly-wheel 24 at the time of starting the engine is lower than a first reference value, the electromagnetic coil 12 is de-energized and the fly-wheel 24 is driven by a motor (not shown) until the speed of rotation of the fly-wheel 24 reaches a second reference value. When the speed of rotation of the fly-wheel 24 is raised to the second reference value, the electromagnetic coil 12 is energized. Here, the second reference value is varied according to the temperature of engine cooling water. |
