PURPOSE:To make the radius of curvature of an arranged cable large and to simplify the structure of a steering device, by leading out a push-pull control cable substantially from the center of a rack mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In the substantial center of a rack casing 1, there is formed a projection part 10 for attaching thereto one end of an outer casing 9 of a control cable, being slightly inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the rack casing 1, and is formed with an inclined hole 11 for guiding an inner cable 6 inserted in a groove 7. By rotating a steering wheel 16 fixed to a steering shaft 3 clockwise or counterclockwise, a rack 2 is slide in the casing 1, longitudinally thereof, through a pinion 4. Thereby, the inner cable 6 is pushed out to the side of a steering unit through an inclined surface 13a and the inclined hole 11, or pulled into the groove 7 for operating the steering system. |
