Opening device for the tail unit of a projectile placed in a launch tube open at both ends, the tail unit comprising folding blades 7. The device comprises actuating means 6 acting on the blades 7 of the tail unit in order to make them pass from their folded down position to their deployed position as soon as the projectile leaves the launch tube 14, and the actuating means 6 are controlled by means of a device 8, 9, 10 reacting to gasses under pressure supplied by the propellent 4 of the projectile 1 in order to cause the deployment of the tail unit at soon as the projectile 1 leaves the launch tube 14. <IMAGE>
