<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display element which has high reliability and high display quality and is suited for driving at a high frequency with high time division, by sealing a nematic liquid crystal between two sheets of upper and lower glass substrates provided with transpaent conductive films for electrodes, oxide insulation films and org. oriented films on the inside surfaces. CONSTITUTION:An SiO2 film 3, a transparent conductive film 6 for electrodes of desired shapes, an insulation film 7 of 1.6-1.9 refractive index and 400-1,500Angstrom thickness consisting of 3:1-1:3 by weight of Si and Ti oxide or Si oxide, and org. oriented films 8, 8a of 10-100Angstrom thickness consisting of a polyimide polymer material are provided successively on the inside surface of a glass substrate 2, and the films 8, 8a are subjected to an orientation treatment. A nematic liquid crystal is sealed between two sheets of such glass substrates 2 and polarization plates 1, 1a having axes of polarization intersecting orthogonally with each other are provided on the outside surfaces of the substrates 2.</p> |
